Get Picky at a Pumpkin Patch

At Risser-Marvel Farm Market in Annville, take a journey on the hayride to the pumpkin patch where you get to choose your very own pumpkin from September through October. In Jonestown, head out to the pumpkin patch at Gray’s Apple Ridge Orchard, where you’ll find pruners for picking and a garden hose for cleaning your freshly picked pumpkin. And once you finally find your way out of their corn maze, check out the pumpkin patch at Seyfert’s Corn Maze in Lebanon. In a pinch? Pre-picked pumpkins are also available at all locations.

Attend the Lebanon Valley Fall Fair Craft & Vendor Show

This September marks the eighth annual Fall Fair Craft & Vendor Show! With nearly 200 vendors, free parking, and no admission fee, this show is the perfect place to find unique goods all while supporting local small businesses! Among the 200 vendors, discover a vast array of handcrafted goods, from jewelry and textiles to home décor and keepsakes to delicious baked goods!

Get Lost in a Corn Maze

It’s finally that time of year again when it is acceptable to tell people to get lost… in a corn maze! On the western side of the Valley, check out the corn maze at Risser Marvel Farm Market. With a different theme each year, Risser-Marvel’s corn maze is particularly special this fall as it honors the 80th anniversary of D-Day with elements representing the historic event throughout the maze. For those who aren’t doing the corn maze, Risser-Marvel also offers many other fall activities including a hayride, pumpkin patch, trike track, hay maze. After trying your hand at the corn maze at Risser Marvel, give Seyfert’s Corn Maze a try! At 14 acres, Seyfert’s Corn Maze is one of the largest in the area and it all started from a high schooler’s agricultural education class project back in 2001. The maze is even illuminated, so it can be enjoyed later into the evening. Beyond the corn maze, Seyfert’s also offers human foosball, a hayride, a pumpkin patch, rubber duck races, a junior corn maze, and a full-menu snack bar (with warm apple cider, yum!).

Experience Historic Schaefferstown’s Fall Harvest Fair

Head out to the Alexander Schaeffer Farm for a trip back in time with the Fall Harvest Fair & Early American Craft Show. At this annual event, experience period artisans, farm-life demonstrations, live cooking, cider-pressing, and unique entertainment. Discover more at the museum store and learn about the Alexander Schaeffer Farm with a self-guided tour of the Schaeffer House and Heirloom Garden. This event is free for members and $8 for non-members.

Pick-Your-Own Flowers at Royal Oaks Farm

Hurry over to Royal Oaks Farm for the end of their pick-your-own season! Through October 5th, wander amongst the beautiful blooms at this family-owned and-operated farm in Lebanon where you can put together your own bouquet. Just stop by the self-serve shed, grab a pair of snippers, select a Mason Jar or pail bucket, and get snipping! Whether alone, with friends, or with the kids (they have an adorable playset), a trip to Royal Oaks is a must when visiting the Lebanon Valley!

Rock Out at the Music & Brew Fest

The Community of Lebanon Association’s Music & Brew Fest is back. Happening on the 21st night of September (, you can’t forget the date for this annual festival!) Head over to the Coleman Memorial Park Amphitheatre anytime from 1 – 7pm for live music, a prize drawing, food trucks, and sample from local breweries, including Rotunda Brewing Co., Snitz Creek Brewery, Schaylor Brewing Co., Lebanon Valley Craft Brewery, and Isaac’s Craft Kitchen & Brewery. This year’s festival will be headlined by the Boy Band Review, alongside performances by Nailed It, Midnight Rock Show, and local favorite Nearly York. The Music & Brew Fest also serves as the kickoff for the Fall Libations Trail (more on that below). By signing up for the free digital pass at the festival, you can earn points and be entered to win a Libations Trail Prize Basket! Festival admission is $25 per person and free for kids 12 and under.

Pick-Your-Own Apples

While you can find fresh apples at many of the markets around the Valley, Gray’s Apple Ridge Orchard in Jonestown offers a pick-your-own experience! With 13 varieties, they are open from mid-September through October. At Sycamore Spring Orchard, also located in Jonestown, 10 varieties of apples can be found throughout their orchard, which is open mid-August through October. And for those in Lebanon, Honey Bear Orchards features six varieties of apples with a pick-your-own experience that runs from early September into October.

Celebrate the Year of the Arts at First Friday

Enjoy all things art on 8th Street Downtown Lebanon with the Lebanon Valley Council on the Arts’ First Friday on October 4th! From seasoned professionals to those who prefer stick figures, all are welcomed and encouraged to come be a part of the council’s community art project. For the project, attendees will have a chance to add their own touch to a large canvas with outlines of some of Lebanon’s most iconic buildings. There will also be live music by Luther Tyree and a gallery of featured photographs from Visit Lebanon Valley’s annual photo contest. Many local businesses and organizations downtown will also be open during the evening, so be sure to come hungry and ready to shop!

Tee Off on the Fall Golf Season

Check Out Miss Morgan’s Milkweed Antique & Artisan Show

Miss Morgan’s Antique and Artisan Show is a truly unique event and it’s returning to the Lebanon Valley Expo Center for its 17th show this fall! The two-day show features over 200 vendors from across the country, live demonstrations, and plenty of food vendors. All under one roof, you’ll find antiques, primitives, home décor, garden ornaments, hand-made artisan crafts, one-of-a-kind clothing and jewelry designs, hand-thrown pottery, rug hooking, and tons more. Needless to say, there’s a reason the show’s catchphrase is #bringatruck! Admission to Miss Morgan’s is $5 per person.

Celebrate Spooky Season at Spooktober Fest

At this free, two-day event hosted by Drunken Smithy and the St. James Players Theatre, check out one-of-a-kind goods from over 40 vendors, as well as live music and theatrical performances, costume contests, and family-friendly activities. Enjoy what the Smithys are calling “The essence of autumn, Oktoberfest, and Halloween all rolled into one spectacular weekend!” During Spooktober Fest, Drunken Smithy will also be offering a variety of workshops for forging, copperworking, and silversmithing. Costumed actors will be in attendance to interact with visitors, but visitor costumes are highly encouraged too!

Go Leaf Peeping

If you’ve spent time in Central Pennsylvania during late October and early November, we’re willing to bet you’ve got some fall foliage photos in your camera roll… there’s just something magnetic about watching as fall paints its way across the trees each fall! For some of the best fall foliage views in the Lebanon Valley, head to Swatara State Park, where the Bordner Cabin and Aycrigg’s Falls provide the perfect backdrop for leaf peeping. The Lebanon Valley Rail Trail also offers a great place to view fall foliage, and with 20+ miles of trail, each trailhead offers a unique perspective. And lastly, if you’re daring enough, we suggest climbing the Governor Dick Observation Tower, where you’ll be met with a 360-degree view featuring fall foliage across five counties—how about that for a new lockscreen photo!

Bring the Fam to Coleman Memorial Park’s Harvest Festival

If you’re looking for a family-friendly event during the Halloween season without all the scariness, the Coleman Memorial Park Harvest Festival is a great option! On Saturday, October 12th, this historic park will come to life with games, prizes, storytelling, pumpkin decorating, food trucks, and more! And though the festival is geared towards the 10-and-under crowd, the Friends of Coleman Memorial Park welcome all who are young at heart to join as well. With 100% of proceeds from the event going towards park improvements, it’s a great way to entertain the kids while supporting the community!

Catch “A Few Good Men” at the Lebanon Community Theatre

Since 1962, the Lebanon Community Theatre has been entertaining and enriching the Lebanon Valley with quality performances. This fall, check out a show during the theatre’s run of “A Few Good Men,” a play about a military lawyer and and a case that puts the military mentality and Marine code of honor on trial. With shows running Thursday through Sunday the weeks of October 14th and 21st, don’t miss your chance to see this courtroom drama play out on the Lebanon Community Theatre stage! Individual show tickets range from $12 – $18, with discounts for students.
