It’s the Great Pumpkin, Lebanon Valley

October is here and it’s time to start the search for the perfect pumpkin. Whether you’re looking for a pumpkin for pie, for decorating or for a scary jack o’lantern, it’s time to visit your local farmer’s market or orchard. Stop at a pick your own pumpkin patch and stroll through rows of pumpkins to find the perfect one.

Pumpkins aren’t just orange any more. Pick a white pumpkin to add to your decorations. Or maybe a peanut pumpkin, with little bumps all over. A long green Hubbard squash will make a nice conversation piece. Not only are there different colors but there are all different shapes. Add some great gourds and hay bales or corn shucks to your fall decorations.

Up for an adventure? Take a hay ride and enjoy some fresh apple cider. If you’re feeling really adventurous, plan some time to visit a corn maze. Did you know the first corn maze in the country was right here in Annville, PA?  Risser-Marvel Farm Market corn maze has a dinosaur theme. Seyfert’s Corn Maze is the largest corn maze in the county. And the family friendly corn maze created by Sycamore Spring Orchards is very popular.   Just remember to keep your hand on the maze and have a great time.
