Fine Dining at Porch Restaurant

Would you think there is a restaurant offering fine cuisine and award-winning crab cakes located at a small intersection in the Lebanon Valley? Believe it or not, there is. Porch Restaurant and Pub is the restaurant.

Located at the intersection of Millardsville and Tulpehocken Roads, Myerstown, in a former hotel, Porch offers fine dining in an elegant setting upstairs and pub fare in a friendly English pub atmosphere downstairs. Last night, I took my family to dinner in the upstairs dining room.

My sister and I dined on corn and lobster soup, made with fresh local corn. My brother started with fried oysters on local field greens. For entrees my sister had a lightly breaded pork cutlet over scalloped potatoes. I chose a chicken breast with a thin layer of melted Parmesan cheese served with mashed potatoes. My brother had the surf and turf, featuring a beef filet topped with one of the award-winning crab cakes.

One cannot have dinner without one of chef’s homemade desserts. We ended our meals with freshly made peanut butter pie, a triple chocolate cake and upside apple pie. Great food close to home, by a French-trained chef Joe Edwards, close to home!

Make a point to visit Porch Restaurant and Pub and have a meal to remember.
