A New Living Art Installation Coming to Mount Gretna

A New Living Art Installation Will Be Unveiled in Mount Gretna This Weekend

Lebanon, Pa. On Saturday, May 25, at 2:45 p.m., Visit Lebanon Valley will be unveiling a living art installation outside of the Mount Gretna Playhouse. The installation is designed and constructed by artist Ryan Fretz, a native of Mount Gretna, and will be on display for the entire summer in honor of the Lebanon Valley’s Year of the Arts.

“It is our extreme pleasure to highlight the arts throughout the Lebanon Valley this year. Be it visual art, theatre, music, or dance, the arts serve as a heartbeat to our community and help us to live more enriching lives,” says Visit Lebanon Valley president Jennifer Kuzo. “I hope you will join us as we applaud the arts in the Lebanon Valley with this new installation!”

The press party will begin at Mount Gretna’s Hall of Philosophy, where a strolling violinist will guide all guests to the Playhouse for the unveiling of the installation. The address for the Hall of Philosophy is 212 Gettysburg Ave, Mt. Gretna, Pa. 17064.

According to Mount Gretna Outdoor Art Show Director Kerry Royer, the installation will also serve as a way to welcome visitors, “The 50th Mount Gretna Outdoor Art Show celebrations herald the unique sense of place that the arts create in our community, and we are commemorating that with community-based art projects throughout the summer. This art installation welcomes art patrons to our community who are here for all visual and performing arts during our peak season.”

Following the unveiling, all are welcome to stay for the second annual Mount Gretna Summer Kickoff. Taking place from 3  – 6 p.m., this annual event invites visitors and locals to preview the summer offerings of many Gretna organizations. The kickoff will also include local vendors, food trucks, live entertainment and an auction.
