Date: Friday, Aug. 1, 2025
Time:
11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Location:
Patches Family Creamery, Fonderwhite Rd., Lebanon, PA 17042
Details:
Author Jennifer Kuzo will be reading the new Lebanon Lilly book at 11:15 a.m. The first 100 children in attendance for the book reading will receive a coupon for a free ice cream, while supplies last. Both Kuzo and illustrator David Scheirer will be available for book signings. The Lebanon Lilly mascot will also be in attendance.

Written by Jennifer Kuzo and illustrated by David Scheirer, the new Lebanon Lilly book follows Visit Lebanon Valley’s cow mascot, Lebanon Lilly, as she explores annual events and celebrations in the Lebanon Valley with her farm animal friends.

“It has been such a thrill to see how engaged people have become with Lebanon Lilly the cow over the past five years since the first book was written. We have adults, as well as children, stopping by our office all the time to pick up a book and take selfies,” said Visit Lebanon Valley president and Lebanon Lilly author Jennifer Kuzo. “The book is a great way to spread the news of some wonderful spots to enjoy in our county, and that is why I wrote the second book, because there are so many more locations to spotlight; and this certainly doesn’t cover them all.”

The first Lebanon Lilly book, “The Adventures of Lebanon Lilly,” also written by Kuzo, was released in 2020. Selected as the United Way of Lebanon County’s 2020 Read Across America book, the first book follows Lilly as she escapes from her pasture to explore popular sites in Lebanon County. Copies of the first book are sold for $10, cash or check only, at all Lebanon County libraries and the Visit Lebanon Valley Welcome Center.

Following the launch party, Visit Lebanon Valley will be holding various local reading events. Stay tuned for event details on Lebanon Lilly’s Sunflower Club Facebook Group. Also following the launch party, the new book, “More Adventures with Lebanon Lilly and Friends,” will become available for purchase for $10, cash or check only, at all Lebanon County libraries, the Visit Lebanon Valley Welcome Center, and various other retail locations.

“I hope these books serve as a reminder to all that sometimes a vacation can be in our own backyard. The Lebanon Valley may be the road less traveled, and sometimes the unexpected roads lead to a more beautiful destination,” remarked Kuzo.
