LEBANON, Pa — Lebanon County will officially launch its participation in America250PA with a community kickoff rally on Saturday, January 17 at 5:30 p.m. at the Lebanon County Historical Society, located at 924 Cumberland Street, Lebanon, PA 17042.
The event is part of the America250PA 2026 Kick Off Events Tour, a statewide initiative celebrating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States and Pennsylvania’s central role in American democracy. The kickoff rally is free and open to the public, though attendees are encouraged to RSVP by January 12th, 2026

The Pennsylvania Commission for the United States Semiquincentennial, known as America250PA, was established by the Pennsylvania Legislature and Governor in 2018 to plan, encourage, develop, and coordinate the Commonwealth’s commemoration of this historic milestone. As the birthplace of American democracy, Pennsylvania will stand at the heart of the nation’s once-in-a-generation anniversary in 2026.
Since its establishment, America250PA has worked to ensure that every Pennsylvanian—no matter where they live—feels a sense of pride, connection, and belonging during this historic celebration. Through the Kick Off Events Tour, the celebration is being brought directly into local communities, highlighting the people, places, and stories that make each county unique.
“Pennsylvania has always stood at the heart of our nation’s story, and Lebanon County is honored to help launch this historic celebration,” said Bonnie Loy, chairperson of the Lebanon 250PA Committee. “As we begin the journey to our sesquicentennial celebration on July 4, we reflect on our shared past with pride and look ahead with hope, unity, and a renewed commitment to the ideals that define America.”
Each stop on the Kick Off Events Tour celebrates the distinct character of the host county while uniting residents through shared history and a collective sense of who we are—and who we are becoming. The Lebanon County kickoff will feature inspiring remarks, custom county signage, commemorative swag, and light refreshments.
Community members, local leaders, educators, and history enthusiasts are invited to attend and help launch Lebanon County’s journey toward 2026.
