The Return of Super Chevy Show at Maple Grove Raceway July 15-17
Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association, Monster Truck, Car Show Extravaganza
MOHNTON, Pa. – July is near and that means Super Chevy is almost here! The world’s largest Super Chevy Show returns to Maple Grove Raceway, Friday, July 15th through Sunday, July 17th. Even though the Super Chevy Show makes stops all across the United States, it’s Maple Grove’s event that draws the largest number of fans, racers and show cars making it is one of the longest running shows.
Fans have the opportunity to witness the action packed feature show firsthand during Super Chevy weekend. Maple Grove Raceway is excited to announce that the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association, Top Sportsman, Super Car Shootout and Chevy’s Against the World East Coast Stock/ Super Stock Challenge are all part of the feature event. Also, Shawn Oblen’s “Webslinger” Monster Truck will be making an appearance Saturday and Sunday to thrill the fans as he crushes cars with his Chevy Silverado Monster Truck. Monster Truck rides are also available each day.
This year’s car show features a little something for everyone to enjoy, from El Caminos and Novas to Camaros and Corvettes. Participants of the judged car show portion of the event receive two days worth of excitement for just one nominal fee of $45. This fee also gives the driver the opportunity to bring along one passenger to the event for no additional charge.
Also, a new class with four models have been added to the already massive car show. The brand new GM class includes models for all year of Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Buick. The class previously known as the Pro Street category has been renamed the Anniversary Class for 2016. There are discounts available for car clubs participating in the Bowtie Boulevard, when ten or more cars are registered. For more information, please call (610) 856-9200.
Maple Grove Raceway has established a social gathering outing available for car show participants by partnering with Shady Maple Smorgasbord. On Saturday, July 6th, any car show entrant has the opportunity to participate in the MGR Car Show Dinner Cruise to Shady Maple. The journey begins promptly at 4:30pm from the raceway.
Super Chevy has enlisted the help of Menards to give racers the chance to see their cars on television. The Menards Chevy Series, which airs on Velocity, features high speed drag racing, up close vehicle footage and a portion of the car show awards presentation. There are four special awards presented to the winners that are set to air in October. Those awards include: Drive Duracell.com Crank it with Coppertop award, OPGI award, Rockauto.com award and the LMC Truck Life award.
The True Street Competition has been a popular feature at Super Chevy over the years, with this year looking to be no different. Last year, over 50 entrants partook in this unique opportunity. True Street entrants exit Maple Grove Raceway grounds to venture on a 30 mile road trip. The ending destination is the return road, where the cars line up and wait to make a run down the track to see who is the quickest and fastest. This gives fans and drivers a chance to see what highly modified real street cars are capable of at a drag way.
As a result of the increasing car counts over the past few years, the payout has been increased. In the Bracket 2 (Pro) class, the winner’s share has been increased by $500 from last year, making the B2 winner payout $2000.00.
Presented by Original Parts Group, this year’s Super Chevy Show will include:
- Sixteen Chevies compete against the World’s Top Sportsman
- The largest car show in the Super Chevy Series featuring 2 days of judging;
- Monster truck rides along with car crush events;
- Dinner cruise to Shady Maple Smorgasbord
- The 1969 “Grumpy’s Toy” IV Camaro, owned by the Bolla family, is making its first appearance at a dragstrip since its restoration.
