Snowshoe Hares in Pennsylvania

Snowshoe hares are a truly unique and elusive wildlife resource in Pennsylvania. One of about 20 species in the entire world that transitions to white in winter to camouflage with snow, the snowshoe hare appears to be in decline in Pennsylvania. The Game Commission to working to better understand how they can benefit this species through management and conservation.
