Poppies with Carolyn: Oil Painting Class
Minimum Age is 13. All classes are taught in a step-by-step manner to accommodate skill levels ranging from individuals with no prior experience to seasoned painters. So, we encourage you to step outside your comfort zone and try something new!
We take one hour for lunch during an all-day class. A refrigerator and microwave are available. The Hideaway restaurant next door is also open for lunch, as well as the Pizza Shop. Remember not to wear good clothing. We do have aprons available for your use. Baby wipes are also helpful to keep your hands clean. We also offer a large selection of frames for your masterpiece, and we will frame it for you. Frames range from $39.00 to $49.00. Frames can be purchased at the class with cash, check, or credit card. (Credit cards will have a 3% surcharge.) Honestly, no experience is necessary. Each step is explained and illustrated in detail, allowing everyone, regardless of their level of knowledge, to follow. We welcome all skill levels. Just relax and enjoy “The Joy of Painting”.

SUPPLIES: A quality 16×20 canvas can be purchased for $11.00 at the class, or you may bring your own; however, remember that having a quality canvas makes a significant difference. Bring any floral oil painting brushes you have available. If not, bring flats, filberts, and liner brushes. We will have loaner brushes at the class for your use. Brushes are also for sale at the studio. You will also need to bring a roll of quality paper towels (Bounty ½ sheets recommended). Again, baby wipes come in very handy for removing paint from your hands and other surfaces. All other materials needed for the class will be supplied.
