It’s Electric!: Issues in Energy

Our panel of experts explores the growing challenge of resource adequacy in our nation’s electrical grid, particularly within the PJM Interconnection, LLC region, as demand for electricity surges due to expanding data center development, electric vehicle adoption, and advanced manufacturing. With potential capacity shortages projected before the end of this decade, the session will feature a facilitated panel discussion examining the causes of the energy crisis, the key entities responsible for electric generation and distribution, and the implications for the Commonwealth and you!

Panelists include Darryl Lawrence, PA Consumer Advocate, Kim Barrow, Vice Chair of the PA Public Utility Commission, Timothy Burdis, lead strategist within the State Government Policy Department at PJM Interconnection, and moderator, Shelby Linton Keddie, Senior Director of External and Public Affairs for PPL Electric Utilities.

Together we will explore: each entity’s role in the energy puzzle, how each organization approaches balancing consumer and utility needs, and the challenges of maintaining reliability and affordability in a time of unprecedented demand.
