Hinkelfest Chicken Festival

Hinkelfest — Pennsylvania Dutch for ‘Chicken Festival’ — is an annual celebration held at Fireman’s Park. What started as a small community gathering has grown into a beloved local tradition bringing together families, neighbors, and visitors for a weekend of food, fun, and fellowship. The festival features a craft show, dime pitch, soda ring toss, candy wheel, raffle baskets, merchandise, library tent w/ activities, live entertainment, bingo and of course, plenty of delicious chicken.
Hinkelfest proceeds benefit these Fredericksburg organizations:
- Matthews Public Library
- Community Association
- Fire Company
- American Legion Auxiliary Post 915 ~Lions Club
