The Big Boy Train No. 4014 Lebanon Whistle Stop
BIG BOY is coming!
Tuesday, July 7th, arrives at 12:30 PM and departs at 1:15 PM | Lebanon, PA
The train will have its nose on 8th Street and its end at 5th Street. The times of arrival and departure will be strictly adhered to for this stop, it will not be extended.
Public parking will be on the streets of the city by meter and in normally designated parking areas. Parking meters will be enforced. Given the keen level of interest in this event, we highly suggest taking public transit routes into the city.

Lebanon Transit Information
Free public parking will be available at the Lebanon Valley Expo Center located at 80 Rocherty Road | Lebanon PA 17042. Lebanon Transit Bus Route #1 picks up at the main roadway entrance at the Expo Center every :30 minutes. Normal transit fares will apply – $1.75 per person, per ride. Cash is accepted, but change is not available so please plan ahead.
Lebanon Transit has a 7th & Willow Street bus stop location in the city which is where you will want to exit for downtown. The train viewing area is a .3-mile (approx. 7 minute) walk from this location.
Lebanon Transit also has a Park & Ride at Snyder Drive.
Lebanon Transit Accessibility Information
All Lebanon Transit buses are fully handicap accessible. Each bus can “kneel” to lower its height for easier boarding, and wheelchair users may board using the ramp.
Standard wheelchairs can be safely secured with straps, allowing passengers to remain seated in their chair during the ride. Please note that some electric scooters may require riders to transfer to a bus seat for safety.
For liability reasons, drivers are not permitted to assist passengers in boarding. Guests should be able to wheel themselves up the ramp or have a companion available to assist them.
Additional activities will include a vendor area with food trucks at the Lebanon YMCA Parking Lot. Note, public parking will NOT be available at this location.
The Mayor of Lebanon will provide a proclamation to the train conductor before their departure.
There will be a program at approximately 1:30 PM to include Abraham Lincoln (played by Larry Sheaf) reciting the Gettysburg Address. There will also be a brief history presentation of the train stations in Lebanon PA by the Lebanon Area Historical Society.

The Union Pacific’s famed Boy Boy No. 4014, the world’s largest operating steam locomotive, will journey to the East Coast for the first time in collaboration with Norfolk Southern, as part of a historic coast-to-coast tour as both railroads celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. The full tour includes a Fourth of July celebration in Philadelphia, major display events in eight cities and more than 50 whistle-stops in 10 states, including stops for the first time in Indiana, Ohio, New York, and Pennsylvania.
